Photo The allure of an enchanted lane

This is my second favourite of the Challenge photos. It is like an abstract watercolour painting, the vibrant overexposed/saturated colour shimmering on the out of focus wet cobbled lane ensures the photo takes on a mystical ambience. I gave Frances an extra point or two for being brave enough to submit such a photo. We both knew that she had some other excellent night photos that would have gained her higher scores. For me this photo encapsulates what the Challenge competition is all about; pushing us to take images we normally wouldn't take and allowing us to expand our boundaries with experimentation.
