In answer to Frances's question, the hotspot is on the forehead and slightly down the face where the skin tone is slightly overly bright or over exposed.

Here, I love how the image can take on different appearances; firstly the leaf then just the veins then the shapes in-between. There is also deep warmth in the light. And I love how the black is so black.

Love these portraits, not your usual 'portrait' shots, captured great.

Hi Benoni, am I missing something, what hotspot?

I love this digitised image. 24 days in November, what do the rows and columns signify, what does the whole month look like? It is great to see an image like this moving into abstraction leaving the viewer intrigued. My affinity with this image stems from the fact that over a two year period I recorded a Visual Digital Diary breaking each day into coloured 15-minute segments showing the limited control we actually have over our lives.

Good composition and colour and the use of the ambiguous title, it says so much or does it! I look forward to our discussion.

This street scene has been captured very well. The main focus of the image is unobstructed allowing them to walk out of the frame. The two main characters stand out from the crowd, not only because of their ethnocultural ceremonial dress but also their engaging demeanour. It was refreshing to see them as they quickly made their way through the people on London's busy South Bank (I was further along the walkway when I saw them but didn't manage to get a photo). My attention is also taken to the man behind the main characters. What is the expression on his face? Is he smiling or laughing in mockery or simply grimacing against the freezing temperature? We don't know. His expression is ambiguous. This reminds me of an image by Jeff Wall called Mimic (1982) where the viewer is left with no ambiguity. It is a reconstruction of an incident highlighting the racial tension within society. Wall's technique is to recreate everyday events he witnesses himself. Well done Graeme a very deserving winner. Everything about the photograph is excellent. It took us a while but we finally recognised it as the Kelvin Hall.

Very inventive Boardplayer. Great colours.

Great portrait - would have scored it higher if it didn't have the hotspot on his right forehead. Very nice though.
